Blogging My Life...Many of you know I got a new MacBook Pro and I have been giving some updates on migrating over from the PowerBook G4 to the MacBook Pro. One of the big +'s of the MacBook Pro is that it is Intel based, which means you can run virtually any OS on it, including Windows.
I downloaded and installed Parallels Desktop for Mac, which enables me to run Windows on my Mac. It is now set up and it runs pretty well. I am still tinkering with setting up a shared folder, so I can drag and drop between the two OSes. Ultimately, I would like to move over the one application I need a PC for, to this parallel desktop solution. I also hear that Apple's next OS Leopard may switch the BootCamp software to run both OSes in parallel, so this application may no longer be needed then.
So a few more days of testing and then Ill move over the application and trash my PC.

I just purchased a MacBook Pro. I thought Parallels Desktop For Mac did not run on the MacBook Pro? Have I been mislead?
In order to access work from home online I have to be operating in a Window's environment. I was getting ready to bite the bullet and download bootcamp and go out and buy Windows XP. Evidently Parallels is all I need to purchase.
I have another question - which version of Microsoft Office do I need to purchase to run on MacBook Pro?

(1) I am using a MacBook Pro and it works fine. It currently is not supported on a Mac Pro but is supported on a MacBook Pro.

Hi i also have a macbook pro with parallel just installed
so i the first thing i wanted to do was play World in Conflict
but when i press play it says please insert original cd and the original cd is in there already
also it brings me to a website for troubleshooting and i followed the steps precisely and still does the same problem
do u know how to fix this?

Does parallel take up a lot of ram? Will it slow things down? I need a MBP to run several CAD programs along with MATLAB(windows programs), Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft office and the Internet. Can this run smoothly with a 8GB ram MBP? Or will I run into problems?

Obviously I like your internet site, but you've to take a appear at the spelling on quite a couple of of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling difficulties and I uncover it very bothersome to inform you. Nevertheless I will surely come once again once more!
