Some of you know how much I love going shopping at physical stores - or not! Today we went to the mall, while Yisha was in Banana Republic, I sat on my favorite bench outside of the store, and listened to the August 18th edition of the Daily Search Cast.
Nope, I did not pre-download it on my Treo. I streamed it directly from the MP3 file source. No choppiness at all, pure, sweet, uninterrupted, search news.
I just love technology.
Who knows, maybe I'll become a shopping maven. Hmmmm.... Maybe not...

Hi Barry,
This is an interesting bit of Hawaii trivia:
The story everyone in Hawaii is selling to the world sell is… Come to Hawaii to experience the natural beauty and the unique culture of the islands.
The reality is… Most people just want to go shopping and eat at nice restaurants. The #1 Hawaii tourist activity is shopping. (Nothing wrong with that) Oahu has some amazing places to go window shopping. Oahu and Waikiki has lost of shops that are very hard to find in one location. Most people focus the entire a vacation on it. It’s a true shopping paradise.
Shopping and restaurant opportunities might sound like a funny reason to choose an island for a vacation but it’s exactly what the vast majority of people visiting Hawaii want. (It’s an almost subconscious desire) No one promotes Hawaii this way because you can go window shopping at home. But… On average, people spend about $150 per-person - per-day shopping. They find stuff they can’t get at home and they buy it. They also buy a bunch of stuff to give as gifts upon return.
When people go home after two weeks of window shopping… They don’t tell stories about the shopping. They tell stories about the natural beauty and unique culture of the islands. (Go figure)
Aloha,
Dave.

No offense, but maybe that is why I have no interest in going to Hawaii.
Really, be it Hawaii, Alaska, Jamaica, etc, none of them appeal to me.
I hate shopping. :)

I hate shopping as well. I don't understand the attraction.
For people like Me & You, I would recommend the island of Maui. (Almost no shopping opportunities)
Oahu gets a lot of locals visiting from Maui because the place doesn't even have a decent hardware store.
