Something I have been wanting to get for a while, but never got around to doing it was a headset for my Cisco IP phone. The problem with these phones, IP Phones, is that all headsets cost like $150, more than the price of most phones, just seemed like a rip off.
Finally, one of my employees did some research and he found the VXI TuffSet 10.
It cost $50 at VOIPSupply.com, plus you need to get the compatible cable, which is $8.95.
My office has a mix of Cisco and Polycom IP phones, so you can mix and match the headsets.
My initial tests went well, and the sound quality was pretty good.
The real test will be next week's Search Pulse, where I don't have to hold the phone to my face while talking on the radio and sifting through articles, web sites, search engines, my notes and the chat room. More on the Search Pulse at www.seroundtable.com/archives/cat_search_pulse.html you can also catch last nights show here.
