Woot has an awesome deal on the iRobot Scooba 5900 today. So after wanting this puppy for a while, I finally ordered it. Yea, it is like a dog that cleans, but it doesnt bark or poop either, I guess if it did poop, it would clean it up after.
The iRobot Scooba will hopefully save me and my wife about two hours per week of cleaning our hardwood floors.
This device goes around your rooms, vacuums up most small dirt (not big stuff), then pours down some cleaning solution, scrubs the floor with it and then sucks up that wet water (as much as it can).
The iRobot Scooba reportedly can't get into the corners, so those will require manual work. But out of a 100+ reviews at Amazon, with a 4 of 5 rating, I think I will give this puppy a try.
I'll update you guys down the road, letting you know how this thing is doing its job.

Hey - love your blog... Woot rocks and I was thinking of picking up one of these myself. Just FYI, if you like deal sites, check out tanga.com. It's new but they have a lot of cool stuff they sell (one deal one day) like board games, etc.

I was given a iRobot aas a gift. It worked four hours and quit. I was instructed to return it and it would be replaced. I returned the iRobot, battery and battery charger.
I was told not to return any accessories.
When I received the replacement, which didn't have any guarantees or battery or battery charger I asked why and they more or less told me that the battery and battery charger were accessories.
In other words when you buy an automobile, the motor, battery, doors etc. are accessories.
Strange world we live in.

I reveived my scooba 2 days ago from WOOT. I opened it, charged it for a day, filled the tanks up, primped it....and nothing.
I see there are many posts in which the same thing occurred. I called irobot supported, they walked me through the same steps and it still does not work - no water comes out. However, when I carry it by the handle, it leaks water all over the floor. I am optimisitic that the replacement will be better than the original as this seems like a great way to keep the tile floors clean.
