I have a client that wants to do some video casts. I am far from a videographer so I was wondering if any of you have advice.
Of course he can buy a web cam, but he wants them to come out nice.
What video camera do you recommend?
What type of lighting?
Anything else I should know about this?
Who knows, maybe I'll do some video stuff myself. But not sure how exciting I can make SEO videos...
Hope some of you have ideas and suggestions. I should probably wait for Matt to arrive in California from Dublin before hinting for an suggestion from him.

You may not need to get too much to do some nice stuff for webcasting. Check out the video versions of Walt Mossberg's tech reviews for the WSJ. He does them with his Macbook's built-in camera and it looks pretty good. Of course if you're looking for super high production value it may not be what you are looking for but see what you think.

Thanks Ian,
I think my client is looking for a bit more, so he can walk around, pick up props, etc.
I real video camera on a tripod may work better than a web cam.
I personally can always use my isight, since SEO doesnt need too many props...
