Since I am in a history mood, I thought I share my past email signatures. I decided to publish my email and phone numbers here, but please do not spam me, please. :)

The first email signature I was able to find in my archives was this one from 1999.

Simple and no phone number on this one.

I then added a phone number to my email signature some time in early 2000 or late 1999. Then we had a 914 area code, until Westchester County stole it from Rockland County.

In late 2000, I changed it to the 845 area code.

Then sometime in 2002 we moved to a new office, in Suffern, NY. So we needed a new number.

My signature remained like that until a couple months ago. But this is what my signature looks like now.

I pretty much added the Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land stuff to the signature file.

In fact, my Treo email signature still does not have the Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land stuff on it.

I actually experimented with this colorful signature for a couple days and then gave up on it.

It was too much.

So why did it take me so long to add Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land? Well, to be honest, the bulk of my email responses have nothing to do with the Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land stuff. The majority of my emails at RustyBrick related, so I didn't want to confuse those folks.

Even today, the bulk of my emails at RustyBrick related. But when I switched to Apple Mail and finally got around to messing around with email signatures, I thought graying out the Search Engine Roundtable and Search Engine Land parts was a good alternative.

I can, of course, make different signature files for different responses. But that takes too much time, I rather just use a default. So this is my current default now.

Damn, I can blog about anything...
