Wheelchair Truck RideMich. Man in Wheelchair Takes Wild Ride from the Washington Post reports that Ben Carpenter was strapped to the front of a semitrailer in his wheelchair and was pushed for several miles at speeds of 50 mph.

The 21-year-old Michigan resident said, "I was probably thinking that this is going to keep going and not stop anywhere, 50 or 60 miles somewhere."

How did this happen?

(1) Son pushes father across street
(2) Light turns green before son finishes route across street
(3) The semitrailer begins driving
(4) Wheelchair handles get lodged into the grille of the semi
(5) Ben goes for wild ride

How did it stop?

Other motorist saw this as it was happening and dialed 911. Cops stopped the semi and informed the driver, who had no idea.
