Cat 5I completed a few items in my Things Remaining To Be Done in House list. By far, the most important item, is now complete.

The networking guy came to the house Sunday to fix the networking wiring that goes up to the master bedroom. The cat 5 cable was simply not working from the basement patch panel, up into the master bedroom wall jack. So he came over with his fancy tools and told me that it appears from his device that the cable is cut somewhere from the basement up about 6 feet. The total cable length he said was about 45 feet and if it was cut in the middle, it would have been a pain.

So he extended the cable from the basement from 6 feet up to the patch panel and within 30 minutes, I was up and running.

Now my FiOS internet connection is also wireless upstairs and running at lighting speeds.

My whole house is covered in strong WiFi, which is great. Not only because of my laptop, but also because of my iPhone.
