So I got my new car and on my travels to NYC today, I noticed that the speedometer showed lights up when you drive faster than 78MPH.
Now, I am not saying I was driving. I just observed this and took a picture as it happened.
How cool is that?

My 335i lets you set the speed point wherever you want it, the trouble is that the damn thing makes the same tone as the RunFlat tire warning, which freaks me out.
My old 325i had a settable limit too...It used to let you DISPLAY the limit on the screen above the radio in bright orange LEDs. So when passengers got in the car you could have it on the computer in the dash it would say "LIMIT 140MPH" ... it got a few laughs!

Hi there, i have an Is250 also. This is a standard feature? Its just the speed limiter. Most cars beep and flash up "speeding" but lexus does it tastefully by lighting the dash up. this can be changed with the arrow buttons on your dash. Its just like the rev / rpm meter. If your rpm meter hits your elected rev count (say 3000rpm) it goes orange, then if you go even harder it will flash red at around 6000-7000rpm. You'll notice this when overtaking or in emergencies where you need to accelerate fast.
