Installing a Ceiling Fan
Yesterday, I installed a ceiling fan in my bedroom. I am preparing for the summer months. I am told a ceiling fan can save big bucks. I.e. I won't have to leave the A/C on all the time, cause the fan should be enough to cool us most of the time.
In any event, with the immense help of my brother, I installed a ceiling fan yesterday. I assembled the fans to the motor. Then came the hard part, the wiring. I removed the current fixture from the ceiling and straitened out the wires.
I then installed the mounting unit in place of the hold fixture. Next step was to place the fan in the fixture. My bedroom ceilings are pretty high, and my ladder wasn't incredibly tall, so it wasn't easy. But I managed to secure the fan on the fixture without falling off the ladder.
After that, we realized we missed a piece, so we had to do the process again.
Once I got it up, I had my brother do the electrical connections. He is really good at that. Then we closed up the loose ends, put the power back on and gave it a test.
First try it worked!
