In December 2006, I hinted that my wife buy me a Linksys Wireless-G Travel Router. I think, I bought it a few days later for myself. In any event, Saturday night, the thing stopped working.
I believe it is something with the power supply. The power LED light simply won't turn on, no matter how many wall outlets or surge protectors I plug it into.
I actually used this device for my home's upstairs wireless network. Yes, I have two wireless networks in my house. I guess I can do a post on why I have two networks later.
So after about 10 months of the router being used every day, it blew up. I think from over use. This is a travel router and I assume it is not meant to be used 24/7, non-stop. But yet, it has a 3-year warranty. So I used the live chat thing on the Linksys web site, got myself a case number and issued an RMA. I will mail it to Linksys for replacement today.
I have one concern, thanks to Steve E, he showed me this blog post about Linksys losing his hardware and RMA information. Hope that doesn't happen to me.
Of course, I will let you know either way.
