Last night, I went out to eat at a normal sit down restaurant in NYC. From the time that I sat down, to the time my food was off my plate, was probably less than five minutes. How did I manage to go out for dinner, order, have them prepare the food, serve us the food and finish the food all within five minutes?
I cheated. My wife and some family were in the city. My wife wanted me to pick her up, so she incentivized me by buying me breaded chicken and french fries (I am a sucker for breaded chicken and french fries). So she went to the restaurant, ordered, and they brought out the food. By the time I got there, they were almost done with their meals and I just arrived. I scarfed down the meal within five minutes and was ready to head back home.
It was a long day but well worth it. My day looked like this:
- 5:30am up
- 6:15am in office
- 7:15pm out of office
- 8:15pm in city at restaurant
- 8:20pm done with meal
- 8:45pm or so on way home
- 9:45pm finally home
FYI, how great does that picture go with the title, "Quick Dinner." I crack myself up. :)
