Well, I thought I ordered barry.me from GoDaddy. Over an hour later, I just got this email:
The following domain name has failed to be registered:BARRY.ME
Error: BARRY.ME: cannot register - already registered
We will evaluate this error and retry the registration if appropriate.
If we are unable to successfully register the domain name, your account will be credited accordingly. Please allow one business day for the refund to be processed.
That is nice! Errr.

I just got the same email for the domain I ordered. They are so quick to take your money, it would be nice to know if the domain is really available before I spend the money.

Hi. I had the same problem. I've "registered" 5 nice domain names and after money transfer I got an e-mail that all these domains are already registered.
I have a bad feeling about this whole stuff. When I checked domain availability in the begining of the registration GoDaddy said it was available. After I had got these damn e-mails I spotted on auctions.domain.me, that some of these names are possible to buy on the auction.
I find it very disturbing and I have a few questions to ask.
1) In the "open" stage auction rules don't apply, do they? (the first the better, right?)
2) Is it possible that GoDaddy could show that domain is available even it was bought in earlier stage and now it is available only by auctioning?
3) Maybe godaddy made this auction after many requests on the same domain?
Please answer...

Yours is one of many tales of woe. Let's hope this mess gets resolved soon! Godaddy and company must be getting tons of hate mail because of this! Hahahahahahah!

Does Apple have anything to do with the .me stuff? They just transferred their ".mac" accounts to ".me"
Just a thought.

I had forgotten about the new .me domain going live yesterday so I didn't get in to register mine till about 10PM last night. While the site was down before I registered I was able to run away with a .me domain.
I feel bad for those who didn't get what they wanted, but if I know bob parsons the owner of godaddy as good as I think I do, he will get to the bottom of it for sure.
But I know that won't help those who lost out.

I also had that problem. Ordered some and then got that email. I did pick up "buystuffwith"
and "securepay" , and didn't get any godaddy lied emails. Let see what happens.

GoDaddy actually called me yesterday and apologized for the problems they had. Thought it was a nice gesture.
