So I get a cold call from some type of company. Not this time it is not a programming outsourcing firm from India or a magazine subscription. The nice sounding woman asked if I have 15 minutes to learn how her company can improve my business, profits and team synergy.
I said, "no." Basically, no, I don't want to spend 15 minutes learning how they can help me.
She then questions me and this makes me angry...
You don't want to make more profit or improve your business?
I said, "what kind of question is that? Of course I do. But I don't want you to tell me how to." I guess I am having a bad day, cause I was a bit rude, but as nicely as I can be... I added, "comeon, your reading from a script, why would I think, honestly, that your company can improve my business? Are you not reading from a script?"
She said she memorized the script. At that point, I just waited, because whatever...
She then went on and asked me again, "You don't want to make more profit or improve your business?" I said, you can't ask me that. I said, "what do other people tell you?" I added, "seriously, what do they say, do they say "no" to that question? Do you ever hear no?"
She said, well - sometimes. Or people say "they are happy with where they are now."
So I said, "I am sorry for wasting your time but I am happy with where I am now."
That is it. I mean, please don't ask me a question like that. Ugh!
