This week at Home Depot is a celebration for Earth Day (which is tomorrow). They are giving away a free energy efficient light bulb to each customer that wants one. I got my free bulb on Sunday, by the way.
In any event, while browsing Home Depot (which is maybe the only place I don't mind shopping at), I spotted these 6-Pack 3 Tier Metal Solar Light-Oil Rubbed Bronze. It seemed like a good deal in the store, so I bought the pack and set them out on my front walkway.
I am told these things don't last long. The light they give off, even when it is sunny all day, is very dim throughout the night and normally doesn't last the full night. This is even more true during the winter months where you need them more.
In any event, they are esthetically appealing to my house's poor landscaping. So I felt anything would be an improvement.
Do you have these? Do you love or hate them?

Solar lights, like everything else, are available at different price points and vary in quality. Look for lights that have multiple LEDs for more brightness. Solar lights are not all the same color and vary in power requirements. Amber LEDs consume less power. The white solar lights are either cool white, closer to a daylight or blueish tone or warm, more golden. Multiple LEDs will consume more power so look for larger solar panels and multiple Ni-MH batteries. Some solar lights will hold a charge that enables them to stay lit all night and into a second night even after a rainy day.
