One of my guys here just received an email from someone asking him to give him his email address. Got that? This guy emailed someone for their email address.
If you don't get it yet, let me explain it another way. It is like calling someone's cell phone number and then asking them to give them their cell phone number. Hey, you just dialed my cell phone number.
Here an edited out screen shot of this email:
The guy is serious. He emailed a specific email address, asking for the email address that he just emailed.
I cannot get over this.

might not be so crazy. Some email software can hide the email of the user in the contact book of the software (outlook exchange can be particular annoying in this regard).
He may be able to email from his software because he has the guy's name listed but may not be able to find the actual email address associated with that listing.

Did he actually send it to an email address, or did he perhaps send it to a phone number which was forwarded to email address or something?

He sent it to the email address. In the blackberry it shows the name, but if you click on the name you can click on show address and see the whole thing.
It is just a case of someone not knowing how to use their device. Computer/Black Berry Illiteracy.

the person must have at one point had his e-mail address and input it, but the funny thing is that he felt it was more efficient to e-mail the contact to get his e-mail into the message portion , instead of simply "getting details" on the contact (or clicking it or whatever)...
